Currency
The legal tender accepted in Malaysia is Ringgit Malaysia (RM). The denomination are as follows: Coins: One cent, Five cents, Ten cents, Twenty cents, Fifty cents, One dollar. Notes: One dollar (being replaced with the coin), Two dollars, Five dollars, Ten dollars, Twenty dollars, Fifty dollars, and One hundred dollars,

Money changers are found mostly in the cities and offer better rates than banks in general.

Credit cards are accepted in most shops around Malaysia but travellers are advised to check with the proprieter first.

Traveller's cheques are also accepted at major establishments in major towns but not in the rural areas.
