Kuala Lumpur, 25 January 2010 - Tourism Malaysia made a successful bid for the PATA Annual Meeting and The State of Sarawak and Kuching City was selected.

In conjunction with the PATA Annual Meeting 2010, PATA & PATA Malaysia Chapter will be organising The Meeting Of Minds Tourism Seminar from 22 to 25 April 2010 at Borneo Convention Centre, Kuching, Sarawak.

Among the distinguished speakers are:
1. YABhg. Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid – President, Heritage of Malaysia Trust.
2. YM Dato' Tengku Azmil Tengku Zahiruddin – CEO, Malaysia Airlines.

There will be 5 papers to be presented and 2 forum discussions at the Seminar. One of the subjects will be The Travel Agent :- Surviving Against The Onslaught Of The Internet, Direct Consumer Transactions With Airlines And Hotels – What are the approaches to ensure its relevance and to pull through in the 21st Century?

Among the panellists are Martin Symes, CEO of Wego.com; Jens Thraenhart, Executive Partner of Dragon Trail; Anthony Wong, PATA Board Member and Group Managing Director of Asia Overland Services and Tunku Dato' Seri Iskandar Tan Sri Abdullah, PATA Life Member and Group Managing Director of Melewar Group Berhad.

About 400 key industry players are expected to attend comprising 200 international delegates from PATA and another 200 participants from Malaysia.

YAB Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, The Chief Minister of Sarawak is expected to officiate the Seminar.
